Answer:

x²-2x-8

.

let,p(x)=0

.

x²-2x-8=0

x²-4x+2x-8=0

x(x-4)+2(x-4)=0

(x-4) (x+2)=0

x=4,x=-2

 \alpha  = 4 \\  \beta  =  - 2

here, a=1 , b=-2 ,c=-8

 \alpha  +  \beta   =  \frac{ - b}{a}  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  \:  \alpha  \times  \beta  =  \frac{c}{a}

4+(-2)=-(-2)/1 4×(-2)=(-8)/1

4-2=2 -8 = -8

2=2 hence,

hence, L.H.S=R.H.S

L.H.S=R.H.S

2. 4s²-4s+1

let, p(s)=0

4s²-4s+1=0

4s²-2s-2s+1=0

2s(2s-1) -1(2s-1)=0

(2s-1) (2s-1)=0

s=1/2 , s=1/2

 \alpha  =  \frac{1}{2}  \:  \:  \:  \ \:  \:  \beta  =  \frac{1}{2}

here, a=4 , b=-4 , c=1

 \alpha  +  \beta  =  \frac{ - b}{a}  \:  \:  \:  \ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \alpha  \times  \beta  =  \frac{c}{a}

1/2 +1/2 = -(-4)/4 1/2 × 1/2 = 1/4

1 = 1 1/4 = 1/4

hence, hence,

L.H.S=R.H.S L.H.S=R.H.S

5. t²-15

let, p(t)=0

t²-15 =0

(t)²-(√15)²=0

(t+√15) (t-√15)=0

t=-√15 , t=√15

 \alpha  =  -  \sqrt{} 15 \:  \:  \:  \:  \beta  =  \sqrt{} 15

here, a=1 , b=0 , c=-15

 \alpha  +  \beta  =  \frac{ - b}{a}  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \alpha  \times  \beta  =  \frac{c}{a}

(-√15)+√15=-0/1 -√15 ×√15=-15/1

0=0 -15=-15

hence, hence,

L.H.S=R.H. S L.H.S=R.H.S
