pair of chromosomes are called sex chromosome.each parent contribute 1 set of genes to the offspring. each cell in an organism has two copies of each chromosome one each from each parents.the germ cell of the organism has only one member of the pair of chromosome.when two gamets fuse to form progeny the pair of chromosomes is restored . thus equal genetic contribution of male and female parents is ensured in the progeny.
