let the ratio of the line segment be m:n.

-----------------------------------------

A(-7,5) P(x,y) B(5,-1)
Firstly of coordinates of P(x,y),
the ratio will be 1:2
x=mx2+nx1/m+n
x=1(5)+2(-7)/1+2
x= 5+(-14)/3
x=-9/3
x=-3
for y, we have
y=my2+ny1/m+n
y=1(-1)+2(5)/1+2
y=-1+10/3
y=-9/3=-3
In 2nd case
for Q(x,y),the ratio will be, 2:1
x=mx2+nx1/m+n
x=2(5)+1(-7)/2+1
x=10+(-7)/3
x=3/3
x=1
for y we have,
y=my2+ny1/m+n
y=2(-1)+1(5)/2+1
y= -2+5/3
y= -3/3
y=-1
HENCE, COORDINATES 4 P(-3,-3) AND Q(1,-1)
HOPE IT HELPS U... PLZ COMMENT ME IF ANSWER IS CORRECT OR INCORRECT.... LET ME KNOW THE ANSWER.. PLZ

A___C___D___B
Consider this as the line segment divided into 3 congruent parts.
C divides AB in the ratio: AC/CB = 1:2
A(-7,5), B(5,-1)
C(x) = (5*1 + 2*-7)/1+2 = -9/3 =-3
C(y)= (1*-1 + 2*5)/1+2 = 9/3 = 3
C(-3,3)
Now CDB
Its divided in the ratio 1:1
C(-3,3), B(5,-1)
D(x) = -3+5/2 = 1
D(y) = -1+3/2 =1
D(1,1)
So the points are (-3,3), (1,1).
Hope this helps.
