Q.WhySolid friction does not depend on speed.

Sir if speed increases then it can reduced the interlocking time and friction will decrease nevertheless why solid friction doesn't depands on speed??

Please tell me.​

It does not depend the area of contact; it doesn't depend on the sliding speed. Friction does not depend on the amount of surface area in contact between the moving bodies or (within certain limits) on the relative speed of the bodies. It does, however, depend on the magnitude of the forces holding the bodies together.
