Answer:

Clearly, by the given graph it is understood that first the sponge gained velocity due to constant gravitation acceleration, after a point of time, the velocity became critically near to the point where the damping or resistive bouyant force became significantly comparable to the weight of the sponge and hence now the net acceleration of the sponge started to decrease till the point where the weight and the damping forces were equal to each other and the net acceleration was zero making the velocity terminal.

Answers :

a) (I) t=2 (t=1.65 to 2.5)

(ii) t = 1.4

(iii) t=2.5 (infinite deceleration due to stop collision with the ground to make the speed entirely zero)

b) Distance travelled = 1/2*0.75*1.33 = 0.49875 metres

Hope this helps you !

Answer:

1 . Unform Speed in the interval 1.5 sec to 2.49Sec

2. acceleating Non Unioformley : 1 to1.5 Sec

3. decelerating with SHARP breaking 2.5 Sec

4. Distance in 0.75 seconds = 1/2X0.75X7.6= 0.285m = 28.5 CM
