Answer:

(5x + 3)(2x - 1)

Solution:

Here,

The given quadratic polynomial is ;

10x² + x - 3 .

We need to factorize the given quadratic polynomial .

Thus,

Let's factorize the given quadratic polynomial be middle term splitting method .

Working rule :

★ Write the quadratic polynomial in its standard form (if it's not) ie ; ax² + bx + c .

★ Split the middle term of the quadratic polynomial in such a way that the product of its parts is equal to the product of first term and last term.

Thus Here we go ↓

=> 10x² + x - 3

=> 10x² + 6x - 5x - 3

=> 2x(5x + 3) - (5x + 3)

=> (5x + 3)(2x - 1)

Thus,

The factorized polynomial is ;

(5x + 3)(2x - 1)

Moreover,

If 10x² + x - 3 = 0

=> (5x + 3)(2x - 1) = 0

=> 5x + 3 = 0 OR 2x - 1 = 0

=> x = -3/5 OR x = 1/2

Hence,

zeros of the given quadratic polynomial are : x = -3/5 , 1/2
