Step-by-step explanation:

The cross section of a piece of metal 4m in length.

From C, draw CF || AB

then CF = AB = 10 cm

AF = CB = 7.5 cm

EF = EA - FA

=> 12 - 7.5

=> 4.5 cm

(i)

Now area of figure ABCDE (cross-section) = ar. (Rectangle ABCF) + ar. (Trapezium FCDE)

=> 10 * 7.5 + (1/2)(10 + 16) * 4.5

=> 75 + 58.5

=> 133.5 cm^2.

Area of cross-section = 133.5 cm^2.

(ii)

Length of piece = 4m = 400 cm.

Volume of the metal piece = Area * Length

=> 133.5 * 400

=> 53400 cm^3

Volume = 53400 cm^3.

(iii)

Weight of 1 cm^3 metal = 6.6

Total weight of the metal piece = 53400 * 6.6 = 352440 g = 3524.4 kg.

Weight of piece = 3524.4 kg
