(i) For a person on the ground, the speed of ball will be the speed of train

therefore, v = 30 m / s

Mass = 100g = 0.1 kg

So,

kinetic \: energy \:  =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}

 \frac{1}{2}  \times 0.1 \times  {30}^{2}

45 \: joules

(ii) For the person sitting in the train, the speed of ball will be 0

Mass = 100g = 0.1 kg

So,

kinetic \: energy \:  =  \frac{1}{2} m {v}^{2}

 \frac{1}{2}  \times 0.1 \times  {0}^{2}

0 \: joules
