Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a scholarship program funded by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India, aimed at encouraging students to take up research careers in the areas of basic sciences.

KVPY is the exam for both 11th and 12th graders. Through this you can get a seat into topmost IISCs, IISERs, and all to pursue your future in research areas. This exam tests your concepts and problem solving ability. It is equivalent to JEE Mains, but the standard of problems is not of that level. If you secure a good rank in it (120 - 200), you can get admission in one of the IISCs and are also eligible to get KVPY scholarship.
