Solution:-

Process to solve any under root (x) questions:-

  • At first, break that number through prime factorisation.

Example: \sqrt{12} = \sqrt{2 \times 2 \times 3} .

  • Second step is grouping. You must always group the same numbers (always in pairs). Give a line under the groups.

Example: \sqrt{\underline{2 \times 2} \times 3} .

  • Then, you have to take out the pairs. REMEMBER! After the pairs (x²) comes outside the radical sign (√), the power of that number become 1 (x).

Example: \sqrt{\underline{2 \times 2} \times 3} = 2 \sqrt{3} .

You must remember the squares of some numbers. They are also helpful, see below:

  • 1² = 1
  • 2² = 4
  • 3² = 9
  • 4² = 16
  • 5² = 25
  • 6² = 36
  • 7² = 49
  • 8² = 64
  • 9² = 81
  • (10)² = 100
  • (11)² = 121
  • (12)² = 144
  • (13)² = 169
  • (14)² = 196
  • (15)² = 225
