LiF is composed of Li 2+ or F-

i. is mass of mg×mass of O

duaaijaz: but we have to write relative formula mass
vaibhavs1287: ok

(i) Calculate the relative formula mass of MgO :-

Answer :-

Atomic Mass of Magnesium = 24 u

Atomic mass of Oxygen = 16 u

Relative Atomic mass of compound Magnesium Oxide will be as follows :-

24 + 16 = 40 \: u

\rule{200}{2}

(ii) Give the formula of the two ions in LiF

Answer :-

Lithium Floride is formed by two elements Lithium and Florine.

\boxed{\mathtt{LITHIUM}}

Atomic number is 3

Electronic configuration is as follows :-

2,1

Valency will be 1

\boxed{\mathtt{FLORINE}}

Atomic number is 9

Electronic configuration is as follows :-

2,7

Valency will be (-1)

So,

Two ions forming Lithium Floride are as follows :-

 Li^{+} \:and\: F^{-}

\rule{200}{2}

skh2: yes, what is the doubt?
duaaijaz: ii) what i have to write the formula of two ions in LiF??
skh2: i have answered that also. see the answer. it is Li+ and F-. ^_^
duaaijaz: only this
skh2: yes there are only two ions!
duaaijaz: one more doubt i have but its another question
duaaijaz: tnx u
skh2: you can add the details like Electronic configuration and atomic number of the two elements!
duaaijaz: ok
duaaijaz: can i ask anyother question?
