summary of the snake poem of class 10 is as follow :-
In this poem, the poet tells of an incident that place on a hot July day. He was at that time in Sicily. One day, he saw a snake at his water -trough. There was some water collected in the stone bottom of the trough. The poet felt a sense of humour in that the snake had chosen to be his guest. It had come from the hot bowels of the earth to quench it's thrust.
but negative thought also arose in the poet ''s mind. the poet tried to hurt the snake. after the snake had disappeared, the poet felt guilty. he felt that he had committed a sin.
hence the poet wanted to atone for his sin.
