Question:
Lithium ( atomic number -3), Sodium ( atomic number -11), and Potassium (atomic number -19) are in the same group in the periodic table with valence electron 1, but potassium seems to be more reactive than sodium and lithium. Why?

Answer:

In Potassium , the outermost electron is better shielded from the forces of nucleus.... Therefore , that outermost electron is more easily lost than in Sodium and Lithium....So potassium gets converted into ionic form readily and more easily than Sodium and Lithium..

.. So potassium is more reactive than Sodium and Lithium....
