anything for first day to school what happened with her

My first day of school, looking back, feels absolutely hilarious to me, though it must've been a nightmare as a child.
My father used to take pictures and shoot plenty of home videos at the time, and he made sure to get some good footage (which I don't have with me right now, though I do have pictures) of the days leading up to as well as the day on which I first began going to school.
You see that cheerful kid at the back there? That's me. This picture was shot a little before I got into my school bus to go to school for the first time ever. The smiling kid in the foreground is my younger sister. She wasn't going to school then.
This was in the early 2000s, I think around '03 or '04. I remember the first thing my parents bought me was a school bag, in order to prepare their son. I used to carry that thing around all the time then: while at home, while out playing, and even to the bathroom! The bag was an indication to other kids that I was no longer that stay-at-home baby who played around all day. I was climbing the steps towards becoming a responsible student (or so my parents made me believe), and so of course I had to show off in front of my friends!
Speaking of which, I almost forgot to tell you where it was that I went to school! I was in the Gulf state of Bahrain during the formative years of my life, up until the end of second grade, and I lived in a standard apartment complex, mostly filled with Indian families like ours, where everyone knew everyone else's names. I had some good friends there, none of whom I still keep contact with, and there were both older and younger kids residing in those flats. I was at the stage where I could jump from that 'young kid’ category to the other. My school was the New Horizon School, and I hear they've closed down now, because of a lack of applicants.
Once I got my uniform and identity card, my excitement knew no bounds! I slept in my uniform, woke up in my uniform, changed clothes from my uniform to my other uniform… I was absolutely giddy with joy!
All of this happiness and excitement lasted till the day school actually started, and my mom took me out of our apartment and into the school bus, which had arrived outside the complex.
That's when it hit me.
The second I got onto the bus, I realised what school meant. It meant being away from my parents, two people whose side I'd never left up until then. It meant leaving my sister, my one and only best friend at the time. It meant leaving my apartment and its surroundings, the only places I had familiarised myself with, other than the short time I spent at kindergarten.
I was going to be with these children I didn't know. I didn't even know where it was that I was going! What was to happen wherever it was that this monstrous vehicle was taking me to?!
The second I got into the bus, I wailed out loud and jumped back into my mother's arms. After some perseverance, she was able to send her crying child to school.
I don't really remember all the incidents that took place at school on my first day, but I do remember being extremely scared of the people and the place, so much so that I didn't acquaint myself with anyone or anything there. I was silent in classes, and I was silent on the way back.
