Given, arc AXB = 1/2 × arc BYC

∴ ∠AOB = 1/2 × ∠BOC ---- i)

Also, ∠AOB + ∠BOC = 180° [linear pair axiom]

⇒ 1/2 ∠BOC + ∠BOC = 180° [from eqn i)]

∴ ∠BOC = 120°
