The aortic arches or pharyngeal arch arteries (previously referred to as branchial arches in human embryos) are a series of six paired embryological vascular structures which give rise to the great arteries of the neck and head. They are ventral to the dorsal aorta and arise from the aortic sac.

They are three pair series structures which further develop into head in osteichthyes.

They are present in embryos. Initially, they are present at both sides.  They are six in pair. They are also classified as bony fish. This fish has simple lungs which helps it to breath in low level oxygen areas in water.

They have mucus coating around the body.  They have a swim bladder. They conatin only 3 pairs of Aortic arches in them. They are mostly classified as ray-finned fish. They are most comman fish and are not an endangered speicies.
