Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • AP = 4 cm.
  • PB = 6 cm.
  • PC = 2 cm.

Tᴏ Fɪɴᴅ :-

  • Area of circle ?

Fᴏʀᴍᴜʟᴀ ᴜsᴇᴅ :-

  • Intersect chord Theoram Say That :- AP * PB = DP * PC .
  • 4r² = AP² + PB² + DP² + PC² . (Shortcut).
  • Area of Circle = π * r²

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

Putting all values we get,

→ AP * PB = DP * PC

→ 4 * 6 = DP * 2

→ DP = 12cm.

Now, Let radius of circle is r cm..

Than,

4r² = AP² + PB² + DP² + PC²

→ 4r² = 4² + 6² + 2² + 12²

→ 4r² = 16 + 36 + 4 + 144

→ 4r² = 200

→ r² = 50

→ r = 5√2 cm.

Therefore,

Area of circle = πr² = 3.14 * (5√2)² = 3.14 * 50 = 157cm².(Ans.)

Hence, Area of circle will be 157cm².
