Apiece of cloth is 24.5m long. How many pieces each of length 1.75 m, can be cut from it?

Solution:

Length of piece of cloth = 24.5m

Piece can be cut from large piece of cloth

= Total length of cloth÷ length of piece being cut

= 24.5m÷1.75m

= 14 pieces of cloth can be cutted from the piece of cloth
