अब्दुल कलाम भारत के ग्यारहवें और पहले गैर-राजनीतिज्ञ राष्ट्रपति रहे जिनको ये पद तकनीकी एवं विज्ञान में विशेष योगदान की वजह से मिला था. वे एक इंजिनियर व् वैज्ञानिक थे, कलाम जी 2002-07 तक भारत के राष्ट्रपति भी रहे. राष्ट्रपति बनने के बाद कलाम जी सभी देशवासियों की नजर में बहुत सम्मानित और निपुण व्यक्ति रहे है. कलाम जी ने लगभग चार दशकों तक वैज्ञानिक के रूप में काम किया है, वे बहुत से प्रतिष्ठित संगठन के व्यवस्थापक भी रहे है.

APJ's full name was Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalaam. He was born on 15 October 1931. His birth place is in Tamil Nadu Rameswaram. He studied in St. Joseph's college,Tiruchirappali Madras Institute of Technology. He studied physics and aerospace engineering. He was the 11th president of india from 2002 to 2007. He was also known as missile man of India for his work on the development of ballistic missiles and launch vehicle technology. He Got His Bharat Ratna Award in 1997. He got hoover medal in 2009. He got NSS Von Braun Award in 2013. He returned to his civilian life of education, writing, and public service after a single term. He was a recipient of several prestigious awards, including Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour. He died in 27 July 2015 in shillong, Meghalaya while giving speech.
