Sea turtles are going extinct.
Sea turtles are facing extermination at an alarming rate. This is largely due to human activities. Industrial runoffs, petroleum spills, discarding waste into the sea etc.
Marine pollution can harm sea turtles in many ways. Plastic pollution, discarded fishing gear, petroleum by-products, and other debris injure sea turtles through ingestion and entanglement. Ocean pollution can also weaken the turtles' immune systems, and disrupt nesting behavior and hatchling orientation.
What we can do to better this situation is to use eco-friendly products, and go to only those restaurants or cafes or eateries which use ecologically conscious products. This small step from our side might just save the future of these beautiful creatures.
