yes it has an used..it was an organ when ape age was prevailing..apes mostly ate raw food..appendice was the organ helping ape species to digest food raw

Not only raw food but also minute soil or rock particles were ingested by the early humans with their food( which was mainly fruits and other raw food). The appendix was used to cleanse these food particles of any foreign contamination
