Given :

Apples are sold at $15\frac{3}{4}$ per kg.

To Find :

The cost of $6\frac{1}{2}$  kg apples.

Solution :

∵ The cost of 1 kilogram apples =  $15\frac{3}{4}$  Rupees

∴ the cost of $6\frac{1}{2}$ kg apples =  $15\frac{3}{4}$  ×  $6\frac{1}{2}$

                                           = $\frac{63}{4}\times \frac{13}{2}$

                                           = $\frac{819}{8}$

                                           = $102\frac{3}{8}$ Rupees

The cost of $6\frac{1}{2}$ kg apples is  $102\frac{3}{8}$ Rupees.
