Gravity is more effective at poles while it is less effective at the equator it is due to the rotation of earth

Apples weigh more at poles than at equator due to the difference in acceleration due to gravity.

It is because of the following reasons:

1. At the poles, it is closer to the centre of the Earth so the radius is less( due to the shape of the Earth). Hence, the pull of gravity is more.

2. The centrifugal force resulting from the rotation of the Earth.
