Snooker is an amazing example of first law of motion. While playing snooker or billiard or pool one can easily observe that if a ball is at rest it remains there until and unless another ball comes and hit at it. 
Similarly if it is in motion it can remain in motion until resistance from the table cloth acts upon it.
