Due to the rapidly growing economy, India needs sustainable energy to meet its growth objectives. The less production of domestic fuel simultaneously increases in energy requirement push us towards more import in energy mix. Electricity production share of India is coal 56.65% , gas 9.20% , oil .58% , hydro19.13%, nuclear 2.32% and other renewable sources 12.09% (source ministry of power India) Taking in account the current energy scenario of India, discussed above it is important to find an alternative renewable energy source which can produce cheaper and sustainable energy. In order to full fill this target MFC technology may have a great potential, as it can generate electricity directly out of waste and simultaneously can decompose the bio mass so it can produce a cut in the waste produced by domestic and industrial waste.  In this project my objective is to build a single chamber sandwich type MFC  Develop a cheap anode and cathode using aluminum mesh instead of using membrane for MFC to make it more cost effective. Plot the curves between open circuit voltage (OCV mV), power produced (mW), current density (mA/m2) and power density (mW/ m2) with time and with different external resistances
