The gases which has extremely low reactivity are known as inert gases.They are non-reactive in nature.

Some applications of inert gases are :

1.Helium : It is used as a cooling medium for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and inflate balloons.

2.Neon : It is used to make high-voltage indicators and switching gear, lightning arresters, diving equipment and lasers.

3. Argon : It is used  used to form inert atmospheres for arc welding.

4.Krypton : It is used in high speed photography.
