I thing this answer is enough for 5 points....hope it helps u
Ultrasounds are the sounds with frequency more than 20kHz (20,000Hz). These sounds can't be heard by human beings as human ear can hear sounds of frequencies between 20Hz to 20kHz.
Application's Of Ultrasound-:
Ultrasounds are used in various fields like-
•Medical science
•SONAR (For communication)
•Industrial purposes.
Let's dive deep on this topic-
• Detecting cracks in metal blocks- While construing big buildings, houses, bridge's, we have to make sure that it's strong and there is no chance of falling. In such structures, large number of metal blocks are placed together. Their can be some cracks between these structures, which may reduce strength of structure. To detect these cracks, we pass ultrasonics waves through it. The transmitted waves are detected by the detectors , these waves pass from flawless portion of the block, while detector's ahead the flaw portion won't detect the waves, as the cracks/flaws reflects back the waves. Through this, we get to know where there are cracks.
•Plastic welding- Small pressures and ultrasonic vibration are passed on two similar surfaces which produces thermal energy and because of this the surfaces bond together.
•Cleaning instrument's- The process of using ultrasonic waves to clean the instruments is called cavitation. Instrument which contains deep holes or parts where we can't clean manually or through any other source, are cleaned through ultrasonic waves. Ultrasonic waves pass through the liquid and passes small bubbles where rarefaction of ultrasonic waves reaches and when the compression of the sound waves reaches here, the bubble implodes due to compression and this leads to formation of many small localized shock waves. These shock waves removes the dirt from the portions we can't reach.
• Surgical uses- Ultrasounds are used for bloodless brain surgery, also for painless teeth extraction. Sometimes there are stones in kidney, stomach, brain or any other part of body, these sounds break those stones in fine particles which are extracted out through urine.
•Echocardiography- An image of heart is obtained through reflection of sound waves from various parts of hearts. In simple language, it's used to study the heart-valve action
