What is Zeolites?

A shape-selective catalyst having Honeycomb structure which permit only selective molecules.

Examples:

ZSM-5
Linde-A (synthetic)
Faujasite (natural)

Application of Zeolites:

Acts as water softener & selective absorbents.
Used as "ions-exchanger" in softening of hard water.
For cracking of Hydrocarbons & Isomerization.
