The common states of matter have obvious applications. Solids let you build things. Liquids and Gases let things flow. Plasma is necessary for many electrical devices, such as fluorescent lights, not to mention a little thing called The Sun. Kinda important to have that.

Satyendra Nath Bose was a brilliant theoretical physicist, deserving of his place alongside scientific greats like Curie and Einstein, but Bose-Einstein Condensate is just a finicky artificial construct that’s very hard to create or sustain. So far it doesn’t have any practical applications, except as a way to experiment with a few aspects of quantum physics.
