7(2)+7(5)               {using distributive property}

14+35                    {7 multiplied by 2 gives 14 and 7 multiplied by 5 gives 35}

49                         {therefore 35+14 gives 49}

Concept:

The distributive property is the property used to solve expressions by distributing a number to the numbers given in brackets.

Given:

Two numbers 35+14.

Find:

The greatest common factor of 35+14.

Solution:

The greatest common factor can be defined as the highest number which is common between the given two numbers.

The numbers 35+14= can be distributed to

35 + 14 = 7 (5 + 2)

It is distributed using the Distribution law.

As here it is distributed by Distribution law, the common factor is 7 which is the greatest common factor of both the given numbers.

Hence, the greatest common factor of 35+14= is 7.
