Iron articles are painted to prevent them from rusting. After painting iron surface does not come in contact with moisture and air which cause rusting.

Corossion occurs when an iron substance comes in contact with air , moisture or acid . Applying paint on iron substances make a layer of paint on it which prevents the iron surface to come in contact with air , moisture or any acid preventing corrosion.
