Answer:

(z-2)(z+4)= -9

opening the brackets

z^{2} +4z-2z-8=-9\\z^{2}+2z+1=0\\z^{2} +z+z+1=0\\z(z+1)+1(z+1)=0\\(z+1)(z+1)=0\\z= -1

there is 1 value of z which is -1

hope this helps
