I think it happens becoz , bee leaves its acid and toothpaste being basic in nature neutralizes the effect..

bee string is acidic in nature . so sooth the area we have to apply base or alkaline to neutralize it .

toothpaste is alkaline in nature . so when we apply tooth paste on area of skin affected by Bea string neutralization reaction takes place and the area soothes .
