Bee sting venom is acidic. Thus, its effects can be neutralised with bicarbonate of soda or alkali (eg. — Toothpaste); and this reaction will reduce the pain.

Applying toothpaste on the area of skin affected by a bee sting soothes the area because Bee venom contain formic acid &  also alkaline in  nature so bicarbonate soda & vinegar in toothpaste neutralize them hence it give relief .
