Galileo's thought of " any moving body continues in the state only until some external force in it. " Because of this thought a new force was discovered.
The new force was frictional force.
The frictional force acts as an external force on moving bodies which bring them to stop.
I appreciate Galileo for his thought which lead to discover of frictional force which plays a very important role in performing various activities like :
1. Enables us to walk without slipping.
2. Enables a car to move on Road without skidding.
3. Friction enables us to apply brakes.
4. Enables us to write and hold things in our hands.
5. To fix nail in a wall.
