Hormones are chemical messengers which gets thing done. They are released at one end of the body but has an effect on the other side of the body. Like animals and human, plants have hormones too and they have some amazing effects too.

Most commonly known plant hormones are:

Auxin,

Gibberellin

Cytokinin

Etylene,

Abscisic acid.

These hormones effect the growth of plants in different ways. For example,, auxin is involved in cell growth and cell expansion whereas gibberellins elongates and strengthen the stem of a plant. Cytokinin delays ageing and Etylene ripens. Similarly, Abscisic acid regulates the water signals.

Now it can be said that these hormones play a vital role in the life period of a plant and without them plants can't survive.
