- Under Gandhiji 's influence, Subhash Chandra Bose entered the Disobedience Movement and became an active member of Congress. He was also elected President of Congress in 1938 and 1939.
- But he resigned from the presidency of Congress due to considerable disagreements with Gandhiji, and instantly created his Forward Block in 1940.
- In Calcutta, the British deterred him under house arrest. Meantime, he ran away from British detention stealthily and entered foreign lands and mobilized the Indian National Army (INA) to overthrow the British from India.
- With the direct aid of Japan, Subhash Chandra Bose followed the British forces' battle and not only liberated the British from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, but also crossed India's north-eastern frontier.
