The poem "Somebody's Mother" is written by Mary Dow Brine. It describe the incident in which a young boy helps a frightened old lady to cross the road When she was igored by everyone else.
The favourite lines of this poem are
"And so without hurt or harm he guided the trembling feet along".
The figure of speech used in this poem is Inversion. "At the crowded crossing, she waited long."
I liked this poem because of the compassion shown by the young boy that teaches us to help the needy, old and poor people.
Hence, the poem is written very simply and reminds us of saying "Do unto others what you would have then do unto you".
