- The poem revolves around the Theme of Love, Philanthropy, and Love for God. The poet states that one who selfishly loves mankind and helps others will seek the love of God and all associated pleasures.
- Once in a temple, a plate of Gold was found. The priest wanted to give it to the one who deserves the love of God. Everyone tried but once they touched the Gold turned into Lead. This left all wondering.
- One fine day, an old man came. He helped the poor beggars of the temple, donated them food and money, and consoled them. When he touched the plate of gold, it retained its luster.
- The rhyme scheme of the poem is Free verse.
