Aprit and Mritul always keep themselves physically fit. To do so they run around a
rectangular park daily in the morning. The length of the park is 4m more than its
width. Also, perimeter of the park is 72m.


(a) Form the pair of linear equations and solve them to find the dimensions of the pair

$let \: the \: length \: and \: breadth \: of \: \\ \\ park \: be \: x \: and \: y \\ \\ given \\ \\ x = y + 4 \\ \\ 2x + 2y = 72 \\ \\ = > x + y = 36 \\ \\ but \\ \\ x = y + 4 \: \: \\ \\ sub \: \\ \\ y+ y + 4 = 36 \\ \\ 2y + 4 = 36 \\ \\ 2y = 32 \\ \\ y = 16 \\ \\ x = 16 + 4 \\ \\ x = 20 \\ \\ therefore \: the \: dimensions \: of \: park \: are \: \\ \\ 20m \times 16m$
