aq. chloride turns blue litmus to red why?​

Acidity is defined by H+ ions, in solution there HCl -> H+ + Cl- therefore giving a positive acidity test. In solid HCl the atoms are bound in a crystalline lattice and are not free. Perhaps if you had molten HCl it would also turn litmus red

Because aq chloride is acidic in nature as it changes its colour of blue litmus to red.
