aqueous solution of sodium chloride (NaCl),
i.e. salt solution does not change the colour of either red or Blue litmus

The attraction between Na+ and Cl- ions in solid is so strong that only lightly polar solvents like water dissolve NaCl well

An aqueous solution of ‘sodium chloride’ will d) not change the colour of either the red litmus paper or the colour of blue litmus paper.

This is because an ‘aqueous solution of sodium chloride’ is a “neutral salt”.

Aqueous solution of sodium chloride is made from a ‘strong acid’ and a ‘strong base’ and therefore it is neutral. Litmus paper changes colour only when a strong acidic or a strong basic solution is used to test it.
