Answer:

This is because sodium sulphate is formed by NaOH and H2SO4 which is a strong base and strong acid resp, so the salt is neutral. But sodium carbonate is formed by NAOH and H2CO3 and H2CO3 is a weak acid (carbonic acid). So the salt is weakly basic. pls mark as brainliest

Answer:

Sodium sulphate is the salt produced by the reaction of a strong acid(Sulphuric acid;H2SO4) and a strong base (Sodium Hydroxide;NaOH).Hence the salt being neutral,it's solution produces H+ and OH- ions in equal proportions.Hence it is neutral.

Whereas Sodium Carbonate is a salt produced by the reaction of a strong nase(NaOH) and a weak acid(Carbonic acid;H2CO3).Hence its salt so formed is basic and it's solution produces more OH- ions in the presence of water.Hence the reason is clear.
