ar2. If ΔABC ~ ΔPQR, Area of ΔABC = 16cm, Area of ΔPQR = 48cm and PR =8cm, then find the length of AC.

As we know area of triangle=½*base*height

Now if we are talking about ratio of area triangles
=(base*height) ∆ABC/(base*height)∆PQR

if triangles are similar their corresponding side ratio are also equal

hence;
(Area)∆ABC / (Area)∆PQR

=(side∆ABC)²/(side∆PQR)²

or [16/48]=(AC/PR)²

or √[1/3 ]=AC/8

or AC=8/√3 cm
