Question :

Aravind has a kiddy bank. It is full of one rupee and 50 paisa coins. it contains 3 times as many fifty paisa coins as one rupee coins. Tha total amount of the money in the bank is ₹35. how many coins of each kind are there in the bank?

Answer :

Let the number of one rupee coin be x.

So, number of fifty paise coin is 3x.

Total amount S=Rs.35

So, 35=x×1+0.5×3x

⟹ x=14

So, there are 14 one rupee coins and 42 fifty paise coins in the bank.

Answer:

₹1 coins =x

50 paise coins = 3x

total amount = ₹35

(x)×1 + (3x)×1/2 =35

(2x + 3x )/2=35

2x + 3x =70

5x = 70

x = 70/5 = 14

₹1 coins =14

50 paise coins = 3x = 3×14 =42

check:

(14×1) + (42 × 1/2) =14 +21 = ₹35
