Arbindo sold his watch at 10% loss.If he had sold it for 54rs. more, he would have made 8% profit.Find the selling price of the watch. Please solve with explanation​

Let, the C.P. be 'x'

8% of x =(x*8/100)

            = 2x/25

By condition,

x+2x/25 = 54

⇒(25x+2x)/25=54

⇒ 27x =54*25

⇒x = 54*25/27

⇒x=2*25

⇒x=rs.50

∴ The C.P. of the watch is rs. 50

10% of rs.50=(50*10/100)

                   = rs.5

So, the S.P. of the watch is = rs.(50-5)

                                             = rs. 45
