MAJOR DIFFERENCE : They differ from normal bacteria due to the difference in cell wall structure. Their cell wall is harder and more efficient compared to the normal bacteria. This provides them an advantage of surviving in extreme and adverse conditions like extremely salty, acidic and hot surroundings. Also they lack a part of cells wall known as peptidoglycan like eukaryotes. They are actually considered as a mix of eukaryotes and bacteria though they resemble eukaryotes more.
