Explanation: No, According to me archaeological excavations, sculptures and carvings are not a wastage of money and time. The Following two points support this statement as:

i) We can get to know what technology used to exist at that time.

ii) We can get to know what they did to entertain themselves and what games, music, work etc. they did.

iii) They Can Help Science also as old Egyptian mummies and other such preserved bodies tell us what organs/body parts used to exist and why did we evolve without them or why are some organs/body parts whose functions are not known exist, ex: Appendix and the famous tailbone.
