Hey friend
Many plant parts are comprised completely of soft tissue and do not survive well in the ground; they break down or may be ingested by animals and microorganisms.
Hope helps

Archaeologists are the people who study the life of our planet in the past such as dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures and plants. When these creatures went extinct, their bones were buried deep inside the soil. As a result of which, over the several years, their bones fossilised and turned into stone. These fossil remains of the prehistoric creatures, helps them study about how they lived and how the went extinct etc. These fossils are priceless if seen from their perspective as they are related to the vast and unknown history of our planet. That’s the main reason why archaeologists look for bones.
