Answer:
Archaeology is the study of our ancestry through artifacts and constructing the chronological order of events from the past till present. History, unlike the popular notion, is not just only about the past. History is the journey, through the past to the present.
This journey that we study, in historical books and courses, has been discovered, constructed and put together in chronological and meaningful order. This process of finding, compiling and constructing is aided by Archaeology.
Archaeology studies the past through the eyes of historical remains, ranging from monuments and buildings to inscriptions, manuscripts, poems, and hymns. They compile, search and comprise the history that we come to know through excavations, chemical tests, decoding ancient scriptures and pictorials, and so on.
